Turner B. Porter is a local Alabama craftsman who makes functional wooden art. His love for woodworking began early in life, building his first piece of furniture as a teenager. Now retired, he continues woodworking by building end-grain cutting boards and wooden trays, turning wooden bowls and vases, and creating scroll-saw art. Turner enjoys creating items from salvaged wood from Lake Martin or from felled trees and turning them into something beautiful and useful. His specialty is creating segmented bowls with unique patterns using varied types of wood, allowing the true colors and grain patterns to be showcased.
