As a mother-daughter creative team, we began thimbletree studio as a means to indulge our crafting impulses. We share a love for working with our hands, a willingness to follow our whimsy and a passion for creating items that are both beautiful and useful. We are most happy when we can repurpose and incorporate the vintage and reclaimed materials that we love to collect. Responsible sourcing of materials and a no waste studio goal add to the challenge and satisfaction of our design process. Vintage table linens, drapery and upholstery fabric as well as repurposed denim and men’s shirts are used for our aprons and totes. Any resulting remnants, scraps and threads are saved and combined to create new items. Even the archival quality paper used for our hand stitched and hand stamped art is carefully sourced from the off cuts and scraps of a fine art printing business.

Embracing the process is key to the conception and creation of each of our offerings and we hope that the peace and joy and beauty that we experience as we work is felt in every product that we offer.
