Born and raised in the lush landscapes of Aotearoa, New Zealand, I grew a strong connection to nature and the world around me at a very early age. The deep, dank bush of the North Island became the silent reflection of my core, the mountains of the South Island became the backbone of my body. Now, twenty years later in America, this green environmental upbringing reaches out through my painting and greets each viewer with its own unique voice. I am a watercolor portrait artist who paints surrealistic narratives in an updated art nouveau style. I use watercolor paints on heavy paper, with metal leafing and occasionally different inks. Of late I have been combining small pieces of prose with my portraits, to outline their conception and to continue their growth amongst audiences. Most of my works involve man in nature, rising up, absorbing beauty, and walking forward.
