I use mostly scrap and recycled parts to create my metal birds, critters, dogs, and cats. People have fun identifying the parts I cleverly use to make them and they marvel at all the ways a simple tilt of the head can give it personality. Yardbirds are a great way to contribute to the good of the environment; they are saving rejected metal parts from ending up in a land fill and they do wonders for improving the looks of their owners’ homes and yards. My medium is metal sculpture. Some of the materials I use are garden tools, car parts, farm implements, and bicycle parts. My main source for scrap metal is Jasper Engine and Transmission
