I have always had an interest in the natural world and have spent most of my life outdoors. I spend part of the year in Minnesota where I have been using mostly birchbark, stones and copper and recycled lumber. I started spending the other part of the year in Alabama and discovered a whole new pallet in magnolia pods, cotton plants, longleaf pine bark and needles, shells and driftwood. I use recycle cabinet doors and panels as my canvas and items I find in Minnesota or Alabama but lately have been combining the two in one piece. I am a dyed in the wool liberal from one of the bluest states in the union and have landed in one of the reddest of red states and have made friends, made a life and love the area I am in. The message I am trying to send with what my work represents is unity. If I can live in Alabama and be happy then there is hope for us all.
