Michael Davis is a watercolor and acrylic painter living in Homewood, Alabama. He draws his inspiration from the beauty and timelessness of the southern landscape. His passion for nature is reflected in his paintings of the southeast from the Appalachian Mountains to the Gulf Coast. Although he began painting in oils when he was young he quickly developed a love for the beauty and detail he could capture with watercolor.
His paintings have received numerous fine art awards including the Best of Show Award in the 2015 Alabama Wildlife Federation Fine Art Exhibition. His current works in acrylic have added a new dimension to his work and his series of “Bare Trees” paintings have recently received Judge’s Award of Distinction as well as “Best of Show” Awards.His work has been featured in galleries and museums as well as solo exhibitions and he teaches workshops throughout the southeast.
He is a member of the Mountain Brook Art Association, the Blue Ridge Mountains Art Association, the Gulf Coast Arts Alliance and the Watercolor Society of Alabama. It has been his privilege to have his paintings commissioned by the University of Alabama for several years.His paintings hang in corporate and private collections across the United States.
