With my work at Lindsay Brook Designs, it is my goal to create top quality accessories that are useful, beautiful, and unique. My highest priority is for the quality and uniqueness of my work to be recognizable on the street. I take great joy in knowing that my items are filling a small void in the local and global economy. I strive to find fabrics that my customers will love, and I often find these at thrift shops, in the form of discarded clothing, or vintage yardage. Sourcing the fabric is one of my favorite tasks in the creative process, because the possibilities seem limitless, and it’s up to me to decide which direction I will go. I am always mindful of minimizing waste, by choosing either re-purposed or organic and natural fibers to work with. Each piece is cut in the most efficient way possible, thus reducing fabric waste. All of my neck ties are hand sewn, from the lining to the back seam, and I take great care to make sure that each piece is perfectly matched. The bow ties and hair scarves are carefully sewn in my home studio, on a sewing machine, and hand-finished with all the appropriate fittings.
