In 2014, diagnosed with invasive breast cancer at age 46, I made the choice to stay positive, full of Hope, and rely on my faith. throughout my treatment. This was especially difficult when , during Chemo, I got an extreme case of C. Diff. Infection, that put me in ICU ,with doctors not sure if I would survive.
I came out of the battle with a deepened understanding of the importance of JOY, HOPE and FAITH. I believed that small positive actions could add up to make a huge impact in the world and set forth to create a charity that would fulfill this mission.
Chick4acause, has a simple mission statement; In addition to the proceeds donated from her whimsical chick art, create an awareness and inspire people to live in Joy. Proceeds are donated to organizations fighting to make a world without cancer and supporting patients that are in the fight.
Her ‘Chicks’ are made individually using repurposed treasures. This represents there are times in life that we seem to feel worn out, and tired, but with a little joy, we can be re-purposed, and revitalized to make a new kind of beauty.
