For as long as I can remember, I have always been drawn to things unusual and quirky; antique or vintage items with colorful graphics, flaked paint, worn patina. Well-loved toys from the past, household items that have long-since been replaced by hi-tech versions, love letters actually written in pen and ink, hardware salvaged from a centuries-old home. Some items strike a chord within me, like a long-lost childhood memory.
I have scoured estate sales, flea markets, auctions and antique stores and use the cool and unusual items I have found to create these one-of-a-kind “Bots”. Each Bot is lovingly crafted using bolts and screws so that they are sturdy and will last for years to come. It needs to be said that these are NOT TOYS, and should be kept away from small children. Many of the items I use were made years before lead-based paint became a thing of the past.
