Jessica Nelson

Jessica Nelson is a mixed media artist and printmaker in Hoover, AL. She earned bachelor’s degrees in English and art, and has worked in communications and publishing for two decades. She is rediscovering her artistic voice and pursing a growth mindset in all things. “I am drawn to contrasts – nature’s beauty and its weirdness; natural and manufactured forms; making something new from old things. Even simple contrasts in color and texture can add beauty and interest. In my art, I try to capture emotions in the tension between contrasting elements and ideas.”
