My name is Jacob Oglesby and I am a Mechanical Engineer. I have always had a fascination with metal arts (fabrication, welding, blacksmithing, etc…). I began tinkering in my garage as a way to understand metal properties not only for professional purposes but as a creative outlet. So began “Engineered Arts” in 2015. My art consists of found, re-purposed and salvaged objects as well as handmade/hand formed pieces. I find that there is beauty in many things that others will pass up as scrap. My works range from more refined pieces to whimsical.
Chester and Polly, two of my first sculptures, have become the mascots of Engineered Arts. Both pieces are constructed of found and reclaimed items.
