I (Tracy) had always wanted to take a pottery class so in 2006 the opportunity arose I jumped at the chance. This was a 6 week course to learn how the throw on the wheel. Shortly after that Craig began to take an interest in pottery also. With our mutual love of the outdoors and nature, and Craig’s background in forestry, using leaves in our work came naturally. Since 2006 we have been self-taught. We read as much as we could watched pottery videos and did a lot of trial and error.
Our work has changed over the years. In the beginning we only had impressed leaves. Later we began to use leaves that were cut from a thin slab clay and applied to the pots. Today we are using a lot of texture in our designs.
We have been honored with numerous awards and recognitions including 5 Best in Show Awards.
Every piece of pottery we make is a collaboration between us. Sometimes a piece will go back and forth between us several times before it is finished.
This has been a joyful and learning journey. We are truly blessed to be able to work together.
