Christina Johnson | The Crafting Rose

I am The Crafting Rose, and my journey with art continues to evolve as I do. My work is deeply rooted in my faith—it’s an expression of my soul’s journey through life. I believe art is a powerful form of healing, and I’m always moved by the way it connects us, often in ways words cannot.

As a creative, I’ve never been able to fit myself into just one category. I love to explore different mediums and forms of expression, and that’s how The Crafting Rose came to life—a name that could hold all the branches of my creativity.

I’m a self-taught artist. For many years, I struggled with self-doubt, feeling like I wasn’t educated or talented enough to fully embrace the title of “artist.” But here I am, at 47, learning to believe in myself. After spending most of my adult life devoted to raising my family, I’m transitioning into the empty nest stage, a transition that feels both bittersweet and full of possibility.

“Rose” is my middle name and my favorite flower, but it’s also a personal symbol of growth. For me, becoming is a process—sometimes difficult, often vulnerable, but always beautiful. Just like a rose, I continue to bloom and bloom again.
