Chelsea Schiavone

I often find myself often feeling pulled between walking amongst my demons as companions, and trying to escape them. As an artist living with Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, my work explores the dichotomy of my deepest pain, and the beauty I have discovered in reclaiming everything that was taken from me. My paintings come from a place within me that is full of sharp teeth and snarling, yet still there resides a softness that believes with certainty that I can create the life where I may remain gentle despite my anger.  I am not afraid of the darkness anymore, from it come the most colorful dreams, filled with hope.
