My work combines abstraction and non-representation images from experimental processes that I have discovered observing the relationship between form, color, and design. Texture is also an important ingredient in my experimentation of methods that serve as a “creative cocktail” for ideas and purpose.
Lately, I have been exploring oil painting with the additive of cold wax medium. Layers of paint are applied with the use of a palette knife, brayer, and squeegee. Then the layers are scratched and scraped revealing the previous layers underneath. There is a dynamic between the colors and textures that invites contemplation about the relationship between disintegration and preservation, chaos and order. I am passionate about discovering new ideas of art making and the process of achieving it. My hope is that the viewer finds their own inspiration in my work engaging the imagination and emotion without the need for representational forms
