Brooke Albrecht is a local Alabama artist who has been painting professional in the Huntsville area for four years. She has been accepted into some of the most prestigious juried art festivals in the country such as The Ann Arbor Street Art Fair in Ann Arbor, Michigan and The Columbus Art Festival in Columbus, Ohio. Brooke has participated in over 40 juried art events across the South and Midwest since she began painting professionally. Brooke has also been a featured artist on the Huntsville Gallery Tour and won the Best In Show Award at the Madison Street Festival in 2017. Brooke uses traditional techniques by painting many thin layers over a detailed drawing to achieve a realistic ffect. These works can take weeks or months to create. She discovered her love for oil painting in college at Shawnee State University in Ohio where she received her BFA. Brooke grew up in rural Ohio where she spent most of her time on her grandmothers farm. It is in recalling those memories that she pulls much of her inspiration. She also finds inspiration in her daily life with her husband and beagles. She strives to paint representational work that portrays a simple life like watching birds, cooking, and ordinary things. Brooke paints subjects as they are but enjoys adding bright pops of color to enhance the whimsical side of her representations. Brooke strives to find the joy and in everyday things and hopes she brings a little of that to you.
