I have always loved fibers and textiles and at a young age my grandmother taught me to knit, sew and macramé. As soon as she taught me macramé, I was hooked. A few years ago the fiber arts had a resurgence in my life. Using simple natural cotton cord I make stylish plant hangers to bring my love of nature indoors and intricate wall hangings to add texture and style to any room. I love creating large statement pieces that are several feet wide but also create smaller items such as keychains and placemats so that handmade items can be incorporated into the everyday. I am constantly experimenting with new techniques and having incorporated different weaving techniques into my work as well as additional materials including wool, stone, brass and acrylic. I also hand dye pieces to create one of a kind ombre works of art.

Bonnybee Designs is more than a business, it is a creative outlet that I have found I need in my life. My hope is that Bonnybee Designs will be a way for me to create beautiful things and for people to purchase them and support handmade goods. The handmade community is such an inspiration and important part of my life and I hope to spread that connection with others.

While also working as a Medical Economics Analyst during the week, on the weekends I attend a variety of shows to sell my items. I have done shows in Knoxville, Memphis and Atlanta. As for home town shows in Birmingham I have participated in the Pepper Place Market for 6 years now, Avondale Holiday Craft Bazaar, Art on Ruffner Mountain, Art Walk and the last five year’s Moss Rock Festival.
