My vision regarding upcycled art is to eliminate unnecessary landfill waste and cultivate creativity within our community. I paint using a hydro-dipping technique. It is a simple, flow-state-inducing process that has been rewarding on so many fronts. Being able to detach from everyday stimuli and enter the world of creation, is a joyful & therapeutic experience that I hope many others get to experience regularly throughout their lifetime.
My primary canvas over the past few years has been discarded or damaged vinyl records. As a record and music enthusiast, I cherish vinyl and love the physical nature of handling the medium. Through this journey, I have found a way to utilize and give new life to the surplus of vinyl that is too damaged to play or is just collecting years and years of dust. The discovery process patrons experience while digging through my art crates gives me a nostalgic and heart-expanding feeling.
