It is our distinct pleasure to announce that Bethlehem, Georgia’s Yvonne Miller and Stefan Hochhuber have been selected as the featured artists of the 16th annual Moss Rock Festival (MRF) taking place November 6-7, 2021 at the Hoover Met Complex in Hoover, Alabama.

The annual selection of MRF’s featured artists always leads us back to who we are as a festival. Nature and eco-ideas have been core themes at MRF since the fall festival’s inception in 2006, shaping many facets and features that visitors have come to enjoy over the past 15 years. We’re proud of our diverse programming history that sprouted from those early seeds and kept the festival rooted in the enjoyment, appreciation, and sustainability of nature. We’ve infused many popular MRF platforms with that central mission creating engaging interfaces for special features, experiences, and connections including outdoor activities and clubs, tiny home design exhibitions, a smart living market, recycled classroom sculptures, craft brew tastings, kids art studios, and even a show cake competition.

But it’s the talented artists who are inspired and influenced by nature who remain a favorite showcase of MRF’s eco-creative weekend. The artwork on exhibit encompasses a variety of styles and methods from paintings of wildlife and plants to works made from natural materials to sculptures incorporating found, recycled, or repurposed objects. But most all of these works continue to reference and honor nature and sustainability in beautiful, imaginative, interesting, and surprising ways as only art can.

The work of Yvonne and Stefan is no exception. Their art offers a natural synergy with the festival’s eco-creative sensibilities. This is especially prevalent in their exploration and incorporation of recycling and nature-inspired subject matter in their art. They source and utilize hand cut vintage papers, fabrics, sheet music, thread, gold leaf and acrylic paint, reinventing and re-imagining discarded materials to spark new interest and forms in creatively layered art collages and other mixed media works.

We are excited to showcase this husband and wife artist team this fall. We hope you’ll join us November 6-7. To learn more about Yvonne and Stefan and see other pieces they’ve created before the big weekend, visit their Featured Artists’ page on our website.

And be sure to check back in with us next week. We’ll be unveiling the featured poster art by Yvonne and Stefan, which they created especially for the 2021 campaign.
